                                       Stillwater Township - A Clean Community
     Stillwater was incorporated by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on December 27, 1824, from portions of Hardwick Township. Stillwater is located in Sussex County New Jersey, eight miles west of Newton New Jersey . It encompasses an area of 29 square miles consisting of three small villages Stillwater, Middleville and Swartswood. Stillwater Township is the home of Swartswood State Park, established in 1914 as the first State Park established by the state of New Jersey.

This year Stillwater Township Clean Up Day will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015, rain date of Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.  Please click on the links below for more information and for participant and registration forms:

*FREE SEEDLNGS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE RECYCLING CENTER DURING CLEAN UP DAY - PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

*FREE TIRE DROP-OFF* at the Recycling Center - up to four tires per household can be dropped off for FREE on Saturday, April 25th or Sunday, April 26th.

Property Tax Reimbursement (Senior Freeze):
2014 Eligibility Requirements*
You must meet ALL of the following requirements:
-You were age 65 or older as of December 31, 2013, or if under age 65, you were receiving Federal Social Security disability benefits as of December 31, 2013 and December 31, 2014;
-You have lived in New Jersey continuously since December 31, 2003, or earlier as either a homeowner or a renter;
-You have owned and lived in your home (or have leased a site in a mobile home park for a manufactured or mobile home that you own) since December 31, 2010, or earlier;
-You paid the full amount of the 2013 property taxes due on your home by June 1, 2014, and paid the 2014 property taxes by June 1, 2015;
-Your total annual income for 2013 did not exceed $84,289* and for 2014 did not exceed $85,553. "NOTE - With very few exceptions, all income received during the year must be taken into account to determine eligibility (including social security, pension income, etc.)
*Eligibility requirements, including income limits, and benefits available under this program may be changed by the State Budget.  Any changes to the 2014 eligibility requirements will not be finalized until the completion of the State Budget that must be adopted by July 1, 2015.

***All RESIDENTS WITH ALARMS PLEASE BE ADVISED:
The Sussex County 911 Communications center will be opening on December 11th 2014. The alarm response call-in number for Stillwater Township is 973-940-5551. All residents with alarms should contact alarm providers with this new number to reprogram alarm notifications such as fire and medical alarms etc. 
Burglary alarms will remain at the same number 973-383-1515.

***2015 Dog License Application***
Applications will not be accepted before January 1, 2015.  A $5.00 month late fee will be assessed for those applications received after January 31, 2015.
